We are pleased to announce a state of the art Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) facility with Dr. William G. Kearns as Program Director. Dr. Kearns completed his Post Doctoral training in medical genetics at the highly respected Johns Hopkins McKusick-Nathan's Institute for Genetic Medicine. He joins us from a faculty position at Johns Hopkins and the NIH. We are extremely fortunate to have someone with his expertise and experience to lead us in this endeavor. Who needs Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD)?
Genetic testing on pre-implantation embryos may be helpful for patients with infertility caused by chromosomal abnormalities such as recurrent pregnancy loss or repeated unsuccessful IVF and for patients at risk for passing on genetic disorders such as Cystic fibrosis and Thalassemia.
