In 1991, Shady Grove Fertility Center opened a fertility clinic and IVF center in Rockville, Maryland to meet the needs of infertile men and women. From the beginning, the staff's intentions, led by founders Michael Levy, MD and Arthur Sagoskin, MD, were to do more than offer the world's most advanced reproductive technology, including IVF, available to people wanting to become parents. Their focus on individualized attention to patients and continuity of care set their services apart.

Fifteen years later, Shady Grove Fertility is one of the country's largest fertility practices, having assisted with the conception of several thousand babies. In 2005 alone, 1500 children were born resulting from IVF and other forms of fertility treatment.

To help patients with all of their related needs, including the emotional and financial impact of infertility, Shady Grove Fertility allocated resources accordingly. In 1993, they launched one of the first Shared Risk Refund Programs in the world, allowing couples to receive a refund should treatment be unsuccessful.

Shady Grove Fertility's practice is structured to ensure that patients have day-to-day continuity of care, individualized and personalized to meet their unique situation.

Eight full-service and two satellite offices throughout the Washington Metropolitan and surrounding areas are served by over 270 professional, experienced staff, including 18 fertility specialists, more than any other fertility practice in the country.
